My Teaching Philosophy

    I believe that it takes a special kind of person to work with young children today.  Children today are faced with challenges and decisions that are often overwhelming.  In order to help these young students, I feel a teacher should develop a good relationship with their students- being a friend, as well as a leader.  In this respect , I feel that I should set good examples for the students that I teach.  Children learn through example and will follow when lead with dignity and respect.  I will respect the needs of my students and in doing so, I will gain respect from them.  I also feel that it is important as a teacher to help my students excel.  I will help my students set personal goals and I will do my utmost best to see that my students work to achieve these goals.  Finally, and probably most importantly, I feel that ALL students can learn.  I will strive to teach and bring out the best in all of my students, no matter what difficulties and challenges they are faced with.
